 The Kaduna State Government says arrangement have been concluded to flag-off of this year’s sales of fertilizer sales for peasant farmers, in Lere Local Government area.

          The Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Kaduna State, Professor Kabiru Mato disclosed this during a KSMC Hausa Programme “Dabazarku Ake Rawa”.

          Professor Kabiru Mato explained that the Kaduna State Government in collaboration with the Nigerian Flour Mills Company will provide about fifty thousand tonnes of the assorted fertilizer to be sold at affordable price to support peasant farmers in their farming activities.

He said the amount of fertilizer procured by government, has doubled compared to the amount provided last year, aimed at ensuring massive participation in agricultural activities in the state.

          Professor Mato said, in its efforts to create job opportunities, about one thousand one hundred youths would be trained on modern fish farming and at the end of the training, one million naira loan would be given to them for self-reliance.
